Panel in San Francisco (January 2026) at the Annual Meeting of the SCS
Neo-Latin Studies: Current Research organized by Patrick M. Owens
The AANLS invites proposals for a panel of papers on current research in Neo-Latin Studies to be held at the meeting of the Society for Classical Studies (SCS) in San Francisco January 7-10, 2026. Our intent is to illustrate the diversity and richness of these studies and to underscore the importance of research concerning the complex international phenomenon of Neo-Latin literature. We welcome papers on all aspects of the study of literary, historical, technical, and scholarly works written in Latin in the Renaissance and early Modern Period; we will also consider proposals dealing with more recent Neo-Latin. Abstracts should be sent no later than February 17, 2025 to the President of the AANLS, Patrick M. Owens, electronically to patrickm.owens@gmail.com in a .docx (preferred) or .pdf format. Abstracts will be shared anonymously with the referees of the panel. Abstracts should be only one page in length. In accordance with SCS regulations, all abstracts for papers will be read anonymously by three readers. Please follow the instructions for the format of individual abstracts that appear in the Program Guide.
